And excellent example....in every way.
Essentially perfect body, (I am tempted to write) flawless paint (was told cost $10,000) All new chrome and trim, excellent interior with leather seats, new top and tonneau, excellent engine (no smoke, 70 psi oil pressure, 140-145psi compression, no obvious oil leaks, quiet valves), 4 speed transmission with perfect working overdrive, new 15" Panasport (which are among the best and most expensive) alloy wheels with 205/60HR15 Yokohama radials. From wherever you look, shows great detail and time and effort to create a wonderful car.
All gauges work, all electrics work, a nice digital stereo, new expensive wood steering wheel, nice engine bay with new Weber 32/36 DGV carb, headers, electric radiator fan.
Carpeted trunk, original jack and jack bag, ANSA exhaust with twin chromed pipes, oil cooler, drives very well, no clunks, no rattles, excellent synchromesh, smooth engine, considering it is a 52 year old British sports car, it really is incredible.
And, as an excellent MGB, is a surprisingly good car, it can be enjoyed in all seasons and at all speeds. Effortless to cruise at 70, 80, even 90 mph, quick precise steering, excellent ride, sure braking, excellent directional stability, parts are plentiful and generally remarkably inexpensive, and IF you want more performance, easily acquired. Which is why I enjoy my own MGBGT with a 2.8 liter Chevy V6 and a modern 5 speed or my MGB with a 2 liter engine, twin Webers, 5 speed, on and on. All great fun to own and drive.
And this one of the better examples we are seen.
